all eye want for christmas

Last Wednesday, Olivia had her first EUA to check for tumors since her cancer diagnosis and was declared tumor free!

HURRAH!

We were ecstatic.  She will continue to be checked every six weeks for quite some time as there is still a risk for tumors developing, but right now she is cancer free.

Merry Christmas to us!

But you know what's even better?

She gets her eye.  On Wednesday!  Exclamation point!

We met her new ocularist, Todd from Erickson Labs.  And you know?  From one meeting, my fears about this part of the process have calmed.  He kind in a way that you can only be when you have seen the suffering of others soothed in part by what you are doing.  He was sympathetic and kind and spoke directly to Olivia, something I find makes all the difference.

So, tomorrow we head back to Seattle for a 9 hour appointment with Todd on Wednesday and we'll see her oncologist on Thursday.  I intend on documenting every single detail, I'm extremely excited about this.
